7/06 “Sand Washing” of the Crippled

The major event of the day will be Sentosa, it's Sunday and there's no doubt that the park will be crowded like sardines, but since I will be leaving for Melacca early in the morning tomorrow, so I guess it's a must that I pay it a visit today. Auntie provided the lodgers with garlic sandwiches and they tasted great!

The sad thing is that after I jutted down from the stairs, I found my feet and soles still in much pain trying to recover from the wounds and blisters. So basically I had to walk around like a crippled, half jogging and leaning from side to side, which is also kind of awkward.

However, my mind is set so off we go!

First, I limped toward Chinapoint hoping that the supermarket there has flip flops available for sale, in replacement of my hellish Native shoes, and the shop disappointed me... I turned into the underground and took the MRT to harbor front, and there was this big sign at the end of the station saying that: welcome to VIVO city! Again, no flip flops for sale...(so much for a "city")

Most tourists headed directly to the third floor and got their 4 SGD ticket ride to Sentosa Park, so I just followed. The first stop is Waterfront, the second will be the big Merlion, with the beaches in the final station. I took the ride to the last stop, hoping to tour around backwards. And only to discover that it's also possible to walk from Vivo city to Sentosa, within a pretty short distance.(On my way back)

The prices of flip flops at the local beach shop were extremely high, I left in agony for I, a backpacker shall never surrender to unreasonable prices! I bare my teeth and jogged around the beaches. And the pain was almost unbearable the time sand started getting inside my shoes, it was like the nibbling of some kind small bloodsucking creatures.

At least I did some sand washing here in Sentosa!

Second stop, gigantic Merlion! It's even bigger than the one in Singapore city, and much more majestic, but without the spurting water from its mouth. The third stop was a combination of Hershey factory, universal movie theater and many other thrilling rides. Since I had my time at Dreamworld in Gold Coast Australia last summer vacation, I skipped all those money eaters. Eventually I saw this one guy from my flight to Singapore, what a small world haha, and he was wearing the same outfit from the plane...

I arrived at Vivo city after a short but heat roasting walk from Sentosa, and luckily found a mall selling slippers. My soles were finally saved and all the aching had been reduced to minimum. And by the time I got back to my lodge, the structure of the whole room had been changed. Beds were rearranged, closets were in awkward corridors... my bed was even combined head to head with the bed of another girl...

Several Indian boys moved in by the way, and they were pretty friendly toward me, asking me if I would like to have some doughtnuts XD (The auntie of Fernloft is an Indian woman, and that explained why most of the people that stayed here were from India)

The girl who's bed was set head to head with mine is actually very nice and sweet, I chatted with her after coming back to the hostel and she was from Phillipines. She kept trying to teach me how to speak her language, a traditional language called the SERGA, but it's just too damn hard XD
