My feet had been carrying me forward the whole day, since I finished the chocolate doughnut given by Auntie. Last year, NATIVE shoes were great comfort to my feet the whole journey in Australia, but this time, the new NATIVE shoes were torturing me and giving me blisters.
C'mon this is only the second day of the entire adventure! It's sad that I didn't have any band aids or socks by my side, so I continued my exploration through clenched teeth. I was in a good mood to see the famous Merlion, so I took the MRT to Marina Bay in the morning while the crowd is still thin. My soles nudged me that we should go back and take a rest, but I pretended not to hear their complaints.
Rain started to fall upon my head the second I left underground, one more thing standing between me and the mascot of Singapore. I circled around the bay and finally caught the Merlion in sight, it was majestic, but cute at the same time. Out of no where people surged in and started taking pictures from beneath the Merlion's tail. I grabbed a couple of shots and quickly left to prevent myself from getting stamped by the enthusiastic tourists.
I even bought a T-shirt with a cute Merlion at the front in the souvenir shop, it was for Ayres. I looked around for the keychains that my dad had brought home a couple of years ago when he visited Singapore but they were nowhere to be found.

I entered a gigantic botanic garden after leaving the bay, it was enormous. Despite the huge pain in my soles, I still managed to covered most part of the garden. It's really futuristic with many cool designs and eco-friendly structures. And there was this sky-bridge that allowed tourists to enter the legendary Marina Bay Sands Hotel. This hotel is extremely luxurious, very beautiful and carried a baguette-like swimming pool on the top, it was an honor to be inside for a tour.
After a short trip admiring the delicate decorations in the hotel, famous Ferraris, Lamborghinis outside the parking lot, I went underground to the food court and ordered a bowl of Laksa, which costed me about 160 NT, but was extremely delicious. I even drank all of the spicy soup.
My last stop of the day was Clarke Quay, just by the river with many pubs and interesting stores. I circled the quay, just like what I did with the Marina Quay earlier, taking a few photo shoots here and there, having a great time by myself, except my aching feet.

My soles were really exploding by the time I got back to Fernloft. There were many blisters on the palm and some red marks that bled. I tried myself to clean the wounds and took care of them, before heading out to the Chinatown point and bought some drinks and cookies in the supermarket Fairprice.
After taking some rest for a while, I headed out again toward the geylang serai. There were flyers advertising about some kind of big Islamic festivals holding there, so I decided to go and see for myself.
Geylang Serai was full of nightmarkets selling Islamic clothes, daily supplies and their special treats, I had the time to myself and indulged in their culture and traditions. Further down the streets of the Geylang Serai area is actually the "red light zone", also known as the legit area of prostitution. Of course I had no intention of taking any part in these kind of actions, but that didn't mean I can't go and take a look XD. So I went deeper in to Geylang Serai.
I went from avenue 40 and walked to avenue 1, about three MRT stations away, my feet were again in pain, but this area was really full of amazement! I even encountered men negotiating with a heavy makeup woman about price; a hotel called the GAY hotel; and several prostitutes-like women waving at men by the doors.

(There was also this Indian girl with a badge on her bag, with a portrait of LEE MIN HO on it...so I guessed Indians also watch Korean dramas XD) And there was this Indian guy I met along the way, who powdered himself all white turning his skin grayish... And another short Indian guy who entered the MRT after me, he was trying to grab the bars on the top but was too short. He leaped several times attempting to get hold of the bars, but gave up finally.
