Waking up early in the morning, I set my directions toward the Jalan Petaling Street, it's some distance away, so I'd decided to pay it a visit before the sun went directly over my head. It was only about six, but the streets had already been packed with traffic and early birds. And this is the kind of pace that I would have to get used to: Pedestrians who don't really care for the cars and cars that don't give a damn for the people. These two categories of the city just go in their separate ways, but the results are pretty smooth and so far no incidents.
Native Shoes seemed fine for the soles yesterday, but they were starting to tear against my feet again! At least the pain were not yet unbearable. I was already sweating from the heat and all the fast paced walking by the time I got to Petaling Street, and the first sight of the area was made of a main street with many booths set by the side selling all kinds of souvenirs, clothes and stuff. Merchants and vendors were basically yelling at the top of their lungs, and I found the goods they sold in much variety, I even picked two vests to my liking.
I even exchanged 200 USD for Thai bahts at the exchange service there, better to do it earlier than trying to find a money service once I got to Thailand.
My feet took me to the famous Twin Towers after leaving Petaling Street, and they were truly majestic. Several tourists surrounded the buildings trying to find the perfect angle for a shot, and I joined their doings. However, by the time I was ready to go back, my soles started to hurt again, just like the bad old times in Singapore, and I managed to limp and half jogged until getting back to the UFO.
For dinner, I had the whole pizza from Papa John's with Spicy Italian Medium Size. I'd always heard about the fame of Papa John's but they don't come in handy in Taiwan, so I've never tried them before in my whole life! And finally I got the chance to taste it and have one to my own here in Kuala Lumpur!
The truth is... I find the pizza, just ordinary, and maybe even a little more poor than Pizza Hut. The bread was too hard, and the toppings not at all rich. So I supposed it not a lost to not have one of their huts in Taiwan.
The prosperity of Kuala Lumpur is amazing, but I considered it a bit overcrowded and messy for such a big modern city. I encountered to really outgoing Malaysians vendors in one of the malls, and they started rubbing white lotions on me telling me that my skin is going to be white after the procedure, one of them even crouched down to rub my legs...
My skin was a little paler than before, but I figured that was because it was covered by the white lotion. And since I had no intention of buying one of those, I kept saying no, nicely to their attempts of selling me the lotion. Eventually I struggled and got out of their grasp, then fled.
It's already 8 o'clock when I got back to my capsule, but it was still bright outside. I headed straight for the showers, and waited patiently for almost 10 minutes for the water to heat up, which was still very damn cold in the end, so far for the big sign saying: Hot Shower, outside on the hotel! What made the situation worse was that the only light to my capsule went down and left me in total darkness, I waited the clerk for instruction but they retorted that they have no way of fixing it... guess I would have to survive on the assisting light of my phone.
What I will give for Kuala Lumpur was, it's really a big and nice city, only if the frequency of bad things happening could be lowered by a bit.
