7/23 Neuschwanstein Castle

Neuschwanstein Castle, the New Swan that located near Fussen town, I'm finally paying it a visit! It was wet and cold outside, but the cabin of the train was extremely warm and hard to breathe for the AC was broken. And after enduring a two hour infurno, we finally arrived at a very small platform and people started rushing out.

The buses that go all the way up the mountains was just a railway awa from our train, so most passengers just leapt down from the platform and crossed it, in order to board the bus.

Well, I wasn't a bit affect by the mob, for I had already decided to hike up to the ticket center of the castle, it would be a one hour walk and I felt really energetic.

The climb was a bit steep, but eventually I made it to the ticket center and there were long lines waiting to gain admission into the New Castle and Old Castle. I started to file in after the others and that'swhen I notice a sign shining that said: no entry before 18:00. What?

It was only one in the afternoon and there weren't any entry until six? I asked one of the helper and he said that the ones before six had been booked. I was really torn by this notice, for my train back to Munich was at seven and if I got in after six, I won't be able to take the train that I had booked.

However, I decided to get the ticket still, and persuaded myself that maybe I could take a later train. I waited for the ticket in line for about an hour and finally the line entered the room, and that's when someone at front yelled that sorry, all of the tickets for the day had been sold out=_= What! So I had been waiting for so long and for nothing...

Fine, I don't need the tickets. I started climbing the stairs up to the Old Castle, and that's when I discovered that I could still take a lot of nice photos even without the ticket, for a big part of the castle was also open to the tourist without tickets.

I visited the lake after my short tour in the castle, and that's when it started to rain.

The roads became really slippery and you could always see people slipping and yelling in sight. Many were waiting for the bus to take them to the Neuschwanstein Castle, but I persisted on walking toward my destination. It's a long, steep and slippery path, and very very cold. I reached the top without taking any break, I was feeling a bit exhausted.

Neuschwanstein Castle was indeed magnificent and totally majestic, it's not extremely big or white, but still very beautiful. They still let you take photos inside the castle even though you didn't purchase a ticket, sweet! The last stop of the day was Marien Brucke, an ordinary steel bridge that allowed you to take in the whole appearance of the castle and it was just superb for photo shooting.
I took a shortcut down the mountain with the others and that'swhen it started to rain like cats and dogs. The trek got muddy and crazily slippery, people were falling into the puddle and getting wet. Eventually I made it down in one piece and continued my walk back to the Fussen town.

It's really a miracle to have found a Rewe in such a small town, and I had a piece of ham, three pieces of bread and some grapefruit juice, for I was starving and thirsty, not having taken anything throughout the whole day.

I will be leaving Germany and traveling to Paris at three o'clock the next morning, goodbye Germany and Rewe, I'm going to miss you and we will see each other in September haha.
