We had been two great kids for the whole
day, walking non-stop. Roxie and I got up at six just to take a look at the
beautiful sun rise from our windows. It’s amazing to see the view plus the
beach and waves from a 12-story high room.
After finishing getting ourselves cleaned,
we took the elevator and headed out. Irst thing was to get the GO CARD, which
was much like our transportation card in Taiwan with an electronic sensor. It
enabled us to take a ferry, train or bus with only the need to beep the card
while boarding. For Gold Coast was much more than just Surfers Paradise and
most of the sights were hours away, that’s why we need one of the cards to take
buses around.
We located the cards in one of the 7-11s,
and we’re ready to get going. Let’s cross the islands in the middle of the map
and give Southport a visit.
Southport belonged to the inner part of Gold
Coast, away from the beach and ocean. In order to get there, we will have to
cross the small islands and many rivers thatlay in between. We had been walking
from the morning and when the clock reached noon, things were starting to heat
up and both of us were sweating so hard. However we didn’t slow our path but
just kept moving forward. A bottle of Tonic water from the convenience store
made our lives better, but by the time we arrived at Southport, it was a little
disappointment.
We took the bus from Southport and traveled
to Australia Fair, for it was a prosperous station and was full of transferring
rides. The bus took us to Harbor Town, the biggest one we had visited so far.
At night, we rode back to Surfers Paradise
and the whole passage was pretty smooth with GO CARD’s accompany. And also much
thanks to Surfside Bus who made our travelling a lot easier, every few minutes
a ride to your destination. We had spaghetti for dinner and some juice.
Tomorrow’s our most expected journey: Dreamworld! Still going by bus of course,
for it was so far away HAHA.
