We had the staying hotel ready toady, since
it would be our last stop in Australia, why not live somewhere that’s not a
backpackers hostel? That’s why we chose Chateau among all the other vocation
hotels, with an ocean view of course. We would be staying there for five days
from Monday to Friday, lucky for us it was cheaper on weekdays and it would
only be costing us about 40 AUD per person each day, only about 10 AUD more
expensive than a normal lodge!
Back to today’s tour around Brisbane and it
was just…boring!
Roxie and I still had Croissants for
breakfast, for a 12-pack was just too much for us to consume in one day. Our
schedule today included visiting the far away Fortitude Valley and Brunswick
St, checking about the China Town here in Brisbane and the famous Story Bridge.

It was like super far and we were already
quick on our feet. The weather was extremely vicious, too. I was wearing
trousers and it was such a big mistake. Most of our path was going up-hill and
both of us felt that our skin had burnt. It was about in the afternoon did we
arrived at China Town, many Asians wandered around but the whole place seemed
pretty deserted. Most of the shops were down, what a disappointment. So we
looked for any sign that says: Fortitude Valley.

Another hour passed by and we felt like in the countryside. There was no sign of Fortitude Valley only a small mall with a small Mc Donald’s. We even entered the Fortitude Valley train station and it was just small and dirty, what’s worth mentioning was that there was this security guy standing by a door and he had his arm tattooed: Spider Man in Chinese HAHA.
Brunswick St was pretty small and most stores and malls were tore down, looked like this area had lost its former glory. Today was just a sad day around Northern Brisbane.
Story Bridge was pretty cool-looking, though it was mainly for car-travelling only and we weren’t planning on climbing it! However you get the sense of déjà vu the moment you stand on it and look down at the water below. Dizzy!
I looked really forward to tomorrow’s visit
at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, just to shake off today’s despair. Roxie bought a
box at the post office on our way home for she intended to mail some of her
stuff back to Taiwan in advance. The post office here in Brisbane was modern
and advance, they even used the DIY check out just like the ones in Woolworths
and Coles!

I paid 10 AUD for the utensils back at
Chills so we could fry some nuggets. We sat on the public patio drinking juice
and had the chicken, it was still a very good night with the breeze brushing
against our faces gently.
I tried hacking the game: Plants VS Zombies
2 but just kept failing…
