The cornflakes we bought yesterday was ready
for battle against our stomachs this morning. We added tons of milk into the
bowl and had them spoon after spoon. It’s a tasty treat though after some time,
I’m starting to lose the taste.
Today’s schedule, our second day of
exploring around Sydney would be mainly focused on Paddy’s Market, Town Hall
and the Sydney Tower in the middle and maybe just a glimpse of Hyde Park. Each
of the landmark was pretty far from one another, looks like it’s gonna be
another day of walking and striding. Paddy’s Market was inside Market’s City
but we couldn’t find it anywhere for it was enormous in size. We were afraid
that it had lost its aboriginal culture and turned into something like an
air-conditioned shop selling electronic devices. The whole “City” looked much
advanced and the price for the goods wasn’t at all expensive. You can find
mostly everything in there. Most of the vendors were yelling at the top of
their lungs and you can also see many street artists doing their performance
around the corners.
The roads here were pretty much tangled
together and little streets and tiny lanes confused us easily. We found the
right direction towards Town Hall after a lot of struggle. It looked pretty
majestic even under repair, we took several pictures of it and stared in awe.
Queen Victoria’s Building soon followed our
trip to Town Hall and it was totally built and decorated in an old ancient way
with a whiff and luxury. It was full of arches and colored window panels. Most
people on the streets had a ball or two of Gelato or a cup of yogurt in hand.
My eyes were red after their trophies but the price of the treat was too high
for my wallet. There was even a guy painting a gigantic picture on the ground
just in front of QVB, people gathered around to see his piece and I, too was
impressed.
We followed the map to the point where it
marked Sydney Tower, I looked around but just couldn’t find it. It was supposed
to be big, right? That’s when Roxie pointed to me over our head and there it
was! Standing tall over our shoulders in the sky. It’s a shame that the tickets
to go up were way too expensive and most of it was just a department store.
Hyde Park would have to wait for another
day, it was already dark by the time we reached there.
It was known to me from Fire Dance, and I
must take a good deal of time to walk it over.
We bought a box of beef stuffed raviolis at
Woolworths on the way back to Maze. It would be me in charge of cooking
tonight!
We played UNO with our roommates as we got
back to our room but I just kept loosing, it’s time to pack our stuff and go
down and cook!
