It wasn’t until midnight did we finally arrive
at ChangI, an Indian lady with bad attitude took care of our flight transfer
and we were free to roam the airport. Most of the stores closed down so we fed
our stomach in the convenience store: Two instant laksa noodles and one gigantic
bottle of apple cider which just made our day.
T3 was full of a selection of equipment and facilities;
there were even touch panels in the bathrooms for the users to fill in their
comments. We were also covered up by a wide range of wireless internet, making
it possible for us to surf anytime, anywhere. Full and pleased, we strolled
around doing some exploring work. There were couples of OSIM feet massagers
lining up by the aisle and they were free! Despite hygienic issues we took off
our shoes and let the machines take our feet to heaven, it was an absolute
deluxe treat. The water here was great and “tasty” to drink by the way.
Thanks for the information given by some
former travelers; we succeeded in finding the snooze lounge behind the food
court equipped with comfortable sofas and cushions. Most of the foreigners preferred
taking their naps on the floor to sleeping nice and tight on the couches. Beside
their bizarre sleeping habits, don’t even mention their snoring! We picked a
spot close to the French windows and gradually wandered into dreams.
It took roughly about a five-hour flight and lots of baby crying for us to reach Perth. We must have looked like dorks making our way through several checkpoints with confused expressions and shaky grins. We followed the signs and eventually got our baggage and exited the airport without making a fool of ourselves. By the time we got to the lobby, there were so many people holding up signs as if greeting our arrival. We made it to Perth! I couldn’t feel more proud of us.

17AUD per person, that’s it, for a lift to the CBD on CONNECT; the tall and strong looking driver was very friendly though. Night fell by the time we got to Northbridge and bad news struck us. The original hostel we were hoping to stay for the night: Britannia on William’s wasn’t available for it was booked full. The hostess, a Singaporean lady was nice enough to set up another hostel: Old Swan Barracks for us just to get through the night. And we were welcomed to come back for the rest of our days in Perth.
The room we were assigned in Old Swan Barracks was a six-person dorm, smelly but clean enough. Roxie and I picked two top bunks and after laying down our luggage, we headed out for dinner: a grand amount of barbecued pork rice. We were lucky enough to get our hands on the local free WIFI but it took a two-hour time after each connection. Now the dorm was full of drunken Australians swearing out loud and they were giving us headaches. Checking out early at ten tomorrow, goodnight fellas!
