The breakfast is still very good to eat even
cooked in our hands: many pieces of fried ham with cheese and eggs dipped in
soy sauce. Crunching every bit of the ingredients with bread in mouth and a
little juice as its sidekick. WOW! The milk on the other hand continued its own
frozen journey.
The most important thing on today’s schedule
is to book the tickets to Sydney at the Southern Cross Station. Roxie persuaded
me in ordering the tickets earlier than buying it the same day of departure to
prevent any incident. It also provided travelers with online ordering but we
figured it a safer and better measure to be there in person to check out the
boarding platforms and procedure.
It was a straight road ahead from the hostel to the station but it took us more than half an hour to get there. Just the idea of dragging all the luggage and walking for such distance on the actual date, oops. The front of the station was pretty glamorous, but the sign of Hungry Jack’s stood bigger and more prominently displayed than the station’s own.
Countrylink changed its title to NSW train
link and that movement made it harder for us to find. The cashier was extremely
friendly and nice, he told us everything about the boarding process and all of
the information of platforms and check-in. There was even Woolworths at the
station, we bought 2 packs of Tim Tam on sale, which tasted sweet but amazing,
and a big bottle of coffee milk for lunch.
We tried to cover the rest bit of the city
on foot in the afternoon, and I finally got my head clear about the similar
streets like Collins, Elizabeth, Swanson, Lone Dale…
It’s a shame that we are leaving soon and it
wouldn’t be necessary for more acquaintance.
Two cans of beef and a bottle of apple cider
were the basic of dinner tonight, combined them with onions, mushrooms and
cabbage, the cider was for drinking of course. I found myself fast at washing
dishes, the ingredients and chopping them to pieces, which helped boost my self
esteem. Roxie was in charge of cooking but her hands mush have slipped tonight
for the onions were still fairly raw after cooking and the cabbage, mushrooms
smelled odd. She kept complaining about her cooking result: the canned beef and
too many noodles. I just sat by and ate quietly.
We chatted with three other Taiwanese girls at the same table, sharing our traveling stories. Roxie and I went with one of our roommates to the other end of the city to meet a Germany guy and chatted. I felt exhausted so I returned to the hostel early, one of the foreigners was friendly enough to ask me to play some snookers with his friends and I beat many of them! Thanks to dad’s teaching back in Taiwan.
