7/19 BRUNSWICK ST.

We will be leaving Melbourne on the 24th and arriving at Sydney on the 25th. Right now at the same time we started to worry about our transportation and lodgment in Sydney so we will get our hands on some information first thing tomorrow. I was in charge of calling in reservation for the room and Roxie was supposed to deal with the train tickets, otherwise she was way too comfortable and I was the only one making our schedule come true.

I had six pieces of toast and full of energy before going to the cold wind on the Melbourne streets with shorts. We will be challenging ourselves with this outfit in the billowing wind for the whole day, hope we can make it back to the hostel without any frostbite. Brunswick Street was a big long street known to all of the locals and a must visit place to the new comers, so off we go!

We lost our way in the crowd and struggle like a bunch of sardines. I tried directing ourselves to the right position but I blamed the map for marking everything too roughly. At last we managed to get some right directions from a pedestrian and moved forward. We visited an ancient museum on the way and it was displaying about Melbourne history, the trams and some of the city models which were about to bore us to death. I found out the reason that some of the Australian tourist spots charge no fee was because they were extremely boring.

Brunswick Street was located in the country and we had been walking for hours to get there. The scenes started to change to tall trees and low roofs and views turned from grey to green. The weather wasn’t good enough to make things shine but produce some mysterious mist instead. Most of the photographs we took weren’t at their best due to the small fog. Our destination felt like just a small town with pharmacies and shops and supermarkets. It wasn’t big but felt fully supplied, a self-efficient little place that isolated itself from the city.

The street wasn’t very broad but was super long, by the time we went back and forth, it was already dark. Coldness sunk in and pierced our skin. Rain drops started falling from the sky making us extremely regretful of wearing shorts instead of trousers. We covered for one another and stopped between sheds, at last we made it back to the CBD.

Since Woolworths was nearer to us than Coles this time, we dodged inside to take shelter and a selection of fresh ingredients. I picked a pack of 8 beef sausages and a loaf of bread for dinner. Tasty!

We had four beef sausages each and some bread which was just ridiculous. I took the fifth since Roxie was already too full after finishing her third. The beef tasted fine but I was having nausea after eating so many, that’s one other thing that I regretted today.
