7/17 The day that we got sick in Melbourne

Roxie and I both woke up coughing and sneezing to the cold morning and having a bad sore throat. We must have forgotten to close the windows last night…I felt strength less like a poor jelly in bed and Roxie seemed to be having a fever. We gave up the free breakfast so she could have a little more sleep, I myself was too afraid to go to the kitchen with no eyebrows. It’s a shame that we will have to postpone our visit to the aquarium but what’s first priority is to take care of our bodies and get better. I studied the tour guide and read some books, Roxie stayed fully asleep.

We headed out for lunch at noon when Roxie seemed to be feeling better, but still suffering from headache. I wore a hood like the assassin in Assassin’s Creed and followed around Roxie with my head down, it would have been much cooler if I had some shuriken strap-ons. After purchasing a eyebrow maker, we searched for restaurants to dine in. Roxie should have something hot like a bowl of soup and that should definitely improve her situation. Lingering for long on the streets, we finally chose Claypot King again for our feasting place. It’s still a wonderful time with dear Curry Laksa with many kinds of seafood and tofu. Roxie had some seafood Udong which she couldn’t finish and had the rest to go.

Mazelike Melbourne made it harder for us to find our way back. Roxie took some pills and continued her rest, hope she gets better real soon. As for me, I accidentally dozed off after reading some pages. It was already dark outside by the time both of us got out of bed. Roxie was smiling broadly and said she was feeling much better, she even apologized many times for ruining our day. It’s just stupid, there’s no need to say sorry haha.

We went upstairs and cooked ourselves dinner, using the leftover of Roxie’s lunch and some Thai rice noodles fished out from the free food basket. I even put in some sardines that were recommended by the Scottish guy earlier. It tasted pretty well I have to say. I went and took a dump in the bathroom for a long time leaving Roxie with the dishes, giving her no choice but to wash them in the sink! We used the eyebrow maker on me a little bit later and the first few attempts were ridiculous!

It’s as if I were playing drama! It was all disasters until I finally learned to blur the black paint out.

Roxie and I headed out even though it’s dark outside, we wandered around several lanes and streets but they all looked pretty similar making it hard for us to memorize. There was this papaw oil that many recommended, calling it the must-buy supply in Australia. It was said to be able to cure many injuries like fracture and burns. Roxie followed her Mom’s order and bought 1 big can, 4 smaller ones and 5 tubes! She even purchased a 6-pack honey goo toothpaste in China Town for her family. Guess that the souvenirs are going to take up most of our weight when we go home.

We underground and found a small booth with nice atmosphere selling some Taiwan dishes and they sell Pearl Milk Tea! It’s unfortunate that both my chocolate flavored one and Roxie’s jasmine Milk Tea tasted awful, it made us miss our home Taiwan more.

Everything’s clear and safe while we journey home. Two other female roommates joined our company today and they were mother and daughter. It’s a little sad that we didn’t visit any of the tourist spots today but by the time we go to bed, we were still feeling pretty energetic and healthy!

PS. There was this big round white guy, approximately 100 KGs from visual guessing who just came out of the bathroom wearing nothing, looking all casual and comfortable. Lucky I hadn’t got my glasses on…
