Our last day in Perth!
The two Taiwanese ladies moved out of our
dorm in the morning for the hostess of the hostel asked them to stay with the
rest of the housekeepers. We didn’t cook anything for breakfast since we had
run out of ingredients, few pieces of cheese crackers and a yogurt will have to
do. After packing our baggage, we planned for our day. (We separated our
belongings into a heavy pile in the carry-on bags and light one in the
suitcase. The time we were coming to Perth and passing the security, our
luggage got overweight but the person in charge was nice enough to let us
pass.) We even put on most of the cloths that weigh a lot leaving our cases
light and empty, it might seem ridiculous but hope it works.
We had took in most of Perth’s view and
traveled to its landmarks making it no regret to leave; we even took all three
kinds of free CAT buses and its city railway. Spending the last of our days in
Perth around the CBD and capturing the afternoon view, we headed towards
Woolworths. It occurred to me that if they don’t have Woolworths in the other
cities, I might as well crack. The juice here was cheap, too, costing about
30NT for 1.5litres. The Australian even sell beer in plastic bottles but it’s
too late to try them out for we were going on the plane tonight. I bought two
cans of Pringles on sale and some coffee milk, in case we got starved in the
airport. Dinner was our last-time cook in the kitchen of Britannia on William’s:
Tuna and bacon spaghetti with garlic creamy sauce. Roxie fell asleep the time
we got to our room while I read my electronic book.
Don and the Korean guy chatted with us for a
long time after knowing about our departure, we were going to miss them. Since
we had dinner early, we went downstairs at about 6 and stuffed ourselves with
some awesome Vietnamese cuisines. Bidding everyone in the room goodbye, we
waited across the street for the reserved CONNECT to pick us up, everything was
smooth so far. The flight was 12:30 am the next morning and the airport seemed
pretty empty, the total weight of our luggage was 35 kilos and that was
amazing, needless for extra money. But we overheard about two miserable girls
who seemed to have missed their flight and one lady that paid with her credit
card due to overweight issue. The security check was more strict than the one
in Taiwan and Singapore, we even have to take our umbrellas out of the bag, the
officer even asked me to take my boots off for it beeped and beeped while
passing the checking frame. It’s lucky that the weather was pretty dry here so
my feet didn’t stink that much, and there’s also one old man poking our bodies
with a metal rod in the end. After all that stabbing and jabbing, we were
through.
I just saw a story of one of my classmates
in college who went to France and got detained by the police on facebook. She
didn’t have enough credentials to go into Paris and she was going on trial. People
were now crowding the waiting area before the gate and I was gradually dozing
off.

I spent 582 AUD in Perth and it was good
enough for a person whose budget was 600 AUD per city. Roxie’s budget per city
was 1000 but she only spent 30 AUD more than I did in Perth, we really lived a thrifty
life, didn’t we?
