7/23 A blurry and misty Fitzroy

Melbourne was known for both its tall and ancient buildings and parks plus gardens. We tried very hard and used a third of the ham, some mushrooms and three eggs, it’s getting near to the day of departing. We went north from the hostel intended to visit the famous Fitzroy Garden among CBD. It might be named as Garden but it should be classified to forest, or park according to its size…

Since we would be moving out the first thing tomorrow, I thought it a good idea to visit some of the tourist spots that we hadn’t set our foot on.

We came across a Treasure Garden before reaching Fitzroy, some tiny ducklings greeted us along the riverbanks and they were extremely cute waddling in a line. Other than that, it was just a random park with some big trees big flowers and green grass. Fitzroy was much more interesting with its own special greenhouse and the first brick house in Australia, which was brought entirely from Britain ages ago, according to the information center. However, rain started showering over our heads and making everyone miserable, we retreated under our umbrella to a mall full of needles and thread. We roamed the place and found loads of equipment used for patching and sowing, what an awesome place!

There were many things that I have never seen in Taiwan before, some tools and different kinds of paper with strange texture. I bought an one dollar shirt on the way which just cost 30NT, it was a total bargain! In the beginning, I thought that the more I saved on this trip, the more I would have when I get back. But Dad told me on LINE the last time saying that they will be claiming the rest of the money back… that’s why I started to have second thoughts and decided to spend all the budget HAHA. But we were still cooking ourselves, it’s fun and delicious, and of course, money saving.

After that we visited a cool town with no name and there was even a Costco by its side! It’s a pity that they only accept membership cards to enter and we just lost a chance to see how a foreign Costco differentiates from the ones in Taiwan…

We took an electronic tram to go home but during the traffic, we heard a BANG coming from the outside and our tram stopped. The driver yelled that we had arrived at the destination and everyone gets off! I looked out of the window only to see that we were in the middle of nowhere and most of the passengers in the cabin seemed dumbfounded. There was a car accident and a Beetle bumped into another car ahead, blocking the route of the tram. We had no choice but to get out. Luckily I still had my directional instinct on, even though we walked for about an hour, finally we still got back to home.

PS. Roxie and I visited a local cupcake store in the afternoon and had some cakes, coffee inside. It was just like a tiny break in the middle of a rushing life. Relax.

The Greenhouse Backpackers was providing free dinner tonight, again! Free Mexican tacos with a fruit cup and salads. They tasted great and I went back to have another one when they yelled: who wanted the last five!

We went downstairs to Coles to pick up some juice for drinking and I really wanted the one with Passion fruit and Tangerine flavor. Roxie insisted on Apple and Guava… (I mean, what kind of flavor is that anyway?) That’s the time we duel in our own game, CHI-KU-BA! The one with two wins out of three fights will decide for the juice we will be hugging back tonight, oh my god I felt so nervous. Sometimes we played this game for fun but this time I really wanted to win, I dislike every bit about Roxie’s choice of juice and I prayed so hard to win that beads of sweat were streaming down from my cheek. Roxie won in the first starting fight so she would attack first, but it’s a shame that I won the first round, she took the second though and it’s my turn to attack in the third. I played out two fists of Rock and she also played as Rock, and I just defeated her and won! I was so delighted that I jumped up and down with the carton of juice in my hands. I hurried to the counter before Roxie changed her mind…

On the way out Roxie bumped into an Indian and joked about it saying that the Indian guy touched her in the butt. I was confused and by the time we got outside, the Indian guy had his arms around the other three Indian ladies… That’s when I said: Oh look, the guy had three wives; I don’t think he bothers to break the law just for another bottom~

I tried out a new kind of way of painting my eyebrows today but it looked like some kind of middle aged pervert… I don’t like it a bit : (
