7/13 The King of the Hills

Our last stop before leaving Perth will be King’s Park, again, for it was the biggest and greatest park in Perth and the chance is zero for us to see it again in the future. Since we finally ran out of toast, breakfast was coconut cookies with microwaved coffee and yogurt apiece. Breakfast was very important to us in Perth for it gave us the energy to explore and walk for the rest of the day. I was the kind of people that often skipped this meal back in Taiwan, but I found it indispensable in Perth. We booked our transport Connect to the airport downstairs with the Singaporean lady and it was a little bit cheaper than buying it online. Our flight will be at midnight 12 o’clock the next morning and we will be heading toward the airport tonight at around 8.

The free Blue CAT bus took us from Stop No.7 directly to the end and dropped us at the rear of the park. It was a trip upward just like hiking in the mountains, the steps get steeper and much harder to climb. Since the park was located at the top of the hills, we should never rest until we reached the peak! Still I wondered how many parks on earth were built on top of a mountain, through gasping breaths. By the time we reached the top, the view broadened and the landscape of nature just touched me in the heart. Cut the words, let me just showed it directly to you in pictures.

From the furthest East side of the park (the park indeed was the size of a natural habitation) we pursuit each other on the ground for fun, smelled the flowers and even roll down on our backs, to the West point. Then we traveled back to where we began by taking more pictures and discussing the special specimens of botanic in Australia. It was already afternoon when we started heading down through a different route sided with many luxurious villas. We eyed them with jealousy and discussed the type of houses we would love to have. Our bellies kept protesting for they only had some crackers in the morning but there were nothing to eat in sight.

We were too exhausted and starved to purchase any ingredient and cooked ourselves tonight, so we had Hungry Jack’s instead. It tasted just like Burger King at home, but better. I had a Big Cheese meal and a single BBQ burger for I felt like one big monster with three stomachs. Roxie followed my lead and ordered one Double Whooper with medium meal, we piled our food on the table and dived in. We must have looked like one couple of refugees under famine but I wasn’t about to care at the moment, neither was Roxie. It felt great to be burping so hard on the way back home. Night fell and the streets were dark and wind blew hard, I still had my shorts and T-shirt on but it didn’t even bother me anymore. One new guy from Nepal greeted us friendly by the time we got back, but since he will be leaving just in the following morning, it’s a shame we don’t have much time to mingle. Looking forward to the tuna spaghetti with white sauce for midnight snack!
