7/18 Beaches

Today’s biggest aims are Santa Monica beach and the Long beach, then we will drop Ariel off to the airport for her flight was at around 1 am in the morning.

We visited the Long beach first and since it was Monday and most of the people were off to work, we were the only four at the beach. We played in the water for a bit and walked on the beach, had a pretty decent time and headed out for the Travelers Chapel, it’s a beautiful place where couples can book beforehand to get married, it’s not very big, but extremely pretty and romantic. There is a cliff across the road from the chapel and we were trying our best to get to the cliff but it was way too far so we made it all the way up half the trek and took some pictures.

Today’s finale was at Santa Monica’s beach and the famous Route 66 sign. It was fully crowded and reminded me much of Grand Theft Auto which was using Los Angeles as its background city and there was a part that stood much resemblance to the Santa Monica beach.

We parked and walked in the crowd and went by the sea, the three of us had much fun by the water except Ariel who has had long stiff pants and were extremely hard to roll up.

Dinner was at a Korean restaurant and since we arrived late at around 9, we only had a few options. Two of us chose to have spicy noodles while the other two had the same without the spice. But when our meals were served, we were given bowls of icy salty soup filled with ice cubes to pour into our bowl of cold chewy noodles.

It was very spicy, our stomach hurt and felt freezing afterwards. None of us finished our food and we paid 12 dollars each and quickly left the restaurant.

It wasn’t long before an old lady ran out of the restaurant and started shouting loudly at us.

Firstly I thought that we had forgotten to take our stuff or didn’t pay the right amount, because the old woman was shouting in Korean, then she said: waitress, tips. Oh c’mon, we had given her a 5 dollar tip and she thought it wasn’t enough so she chased out to get more, we gave her another 5 and started saying that this is the worst Korean restaurant ever to ourselves.

Later on we took Ariel to the airport, bid her goodbye and got our car to a self car wash where we had lots of fun with the foam and strong water hose.

Then we retired to the house at around 11:30 and we have to return the car tomorrow before 930 which was so not okay.
