7/13 Grand Canyon

My right arm and fingers and palm are in a complete numb state at the moment, due to the driving throughout the whole day, from 8 in the morning to 3 in the morning the next day (7/14 to be exact) that’s right, and now it’s almost 4 when I’m typing this journal because I don’t want to leave it to tomorrow otherwise I will have to do 4 (2 English and 2 Chinese in total). 

The reason for so much driving in one day is because the town is around 2hours and 40 minutes from where we were staying, and after we made it to the entrance of the Grand Canyon, I still have to drive inside the park because it’s so big, and we would get off occasionally to see sights and take pictures. 

And right after the park, which is located in the East, we decided to travel for another couple of hours to go to a famous place called Royal Cape and other interesting tour sights but they are hours away, still we decided to go there and then return to see the sunset, it was further than we thought.

We arrived at 9pm, yes, nine, we missed the sunset though we stopped for some beautiful view and the Colorado River, but still, we didn’t really get to see what we were after. 

And after we had climbed up the North Rim, there was the Grand Canyon lodge which you can see a great landscape of the Grand Canyon in various colors from the windows of the restaurant. 

We checked it out and had a beef hotdog outside at one of the vendors, of course not inside the restaurant haha.

The drive back to our motel took us a really long time because we were so far away, and we finally arrived at 3 am. 

The roads were so dark and sometimes there were animals standing in the middle of the road and not at all moving so I had to be very careful when I drove, but when we reached the highway it’s much smoother and we were going at the average speed of around 110 miles/per hour, still it took us a really long time to get back because it’s so far away! 

Tomorrow we’re driving to Vegas so I better get some sleep.
