TED/Sir Ken Robinson: Bring on the learning revolution!

The old ways of learning are past their time, they are old fashioned and old schooled...

At least that's what Ken said in the lecture. No matter in the learning system of the Western culture or in the East, the learning types in schools, or at home are out of date. For example, the latest technology is allowing us to use electronic pads instead of paper, to save the resources in our Mother Earth.

I must say that I'm really in favor of this kind of theory, for the huge amount of paper using is soon going to become overwhelming for us to handle, and the trees are soon not enough for the production of paper, so I guess this kind of suggestion is probably the best for our society nowadays.

Besides from this kind of material problems, there's also the issues about the school system, the educational problems. Many methods of school teaching are old schooled, including the textbooks. Children are not learning useful and practical things at these facilities, instead, they have been wasting their time developing all kinds of useless materials. What can good grades at school prove for them in the future, even if they strive in excellence at Physics in school, but they go out to become an artist in the future?

And that's why many people are suggesting to change how the school functions in the future, but maybe the whole thing will really be started in a few years in the future, for many of the educational facilities aren't inclined to making any changes. And it's no doubt that the system in the East is not going to have any participation in this, for most of the Asian people would rather stuck to the old cultures and traditional customs...which is really pathetic.
