Sometimes we crave to find a job so bad that we're ignoring: what kind of job it is. For example, some graduates out of colleges are trying best to get employed, to be steady outside in the society that they are not taking enough time to see whether the job really fits his or her appetite. New jobs give people enthusiasm and result in hard work and productivity, but the phenomenon never stays long, unless the person is working in the field of his interest.
Shawn was suggesting in the video about people working happily in their fields, and what the world would have become if everyone can participate in jobs that all of us would be happy to do. For example, if I specialized and craved to write, and money isn't the problem, I can be an author, and I would definitely work happily in this area; if I were an can expert, leaving the consideration of the salary aside, I would rather be a mechanic or an employee of companies.
Sadly, that's not how the society works, for people try to earn big money to support themselves and the families, rather than following their heart and interest. People may reply that they're just being realistic and practical. By the way, of everyone can just follow what they want to do and actually get the job they want, the whole world may go into chaos. Huge amount of pop stars and celebrities, everyone wants to be a famous sports star, nobody stays to labor and do the hard work.
So I guess the whole point of this suggestion is to say, if you really want to work in the field you like, or do it as a job, you should try your best to achieve it, and the result and happiness it brings will definitely be more than what you get at a random company. And I must say the author has a good point.
