TED/Paul Piff: Does money make you mean?

There are many rich people throughout the whole world and some of them can be mean and pretty selfish, but there are still others out there who like to get involve in charity and donate a lot of money to those in need. Of course it's typical and common sense that people can get crazy over money, and it often has something to do with murders and blackmailing and many unethical, bad moves. However, the lecturer today named many facts and touching stories, deeds achieved by the rich people.

There is a millionaire in the USA who donates every dollar or penny of his salary to charity, and indulges in helping the poor at the workhouses. For he thinks that the money he had earned is enough for himself to get by his living.

There's also this rich guy, maybe a billionaire in Asia who not only pays a large sum of money in inventing antidotes and medicines to treat some of the century's great diseases, but also put himself into the action. By the way, there are many cases of celebrities, sport stars, who are rich with cash and gold, but still put in effort and their precious time in helping others. For example there's Angelina Jolie, Cristiano Ronaldo, etc...

So does money really make a person mean? I don't think so, it's pretty much depended on a person's personality and characteristics. Of course it can turn a person into a criminal and make him sinful, but to some, it's just pieces of papers.
