8/11 Say Goodbye to my Millionaire Life

The last day in Hanoi, and I had no where to go. I had had PHO for many meals here, and the milk+cereal combo that I bought first day of arrival was finally empty.

I could say that I wouldn't be leaving any regrets here in Hanoi, even though I would be leaving here the first thing tomorrow, for I had been to most of the legendary and recommended tourist spots. However, it would really take some time to get use to the sudden transformation from a millionaire to a slum dog XD

I made my way to the Local Dong Xuan Market, it was crowdy and all the goodies were piled up to a dangerous height. It was clammy inside and the air was not very good. I squeezed myself out of the crowd for fresh air after a small stroll in the market.

There was a hospital just by the market, and many people were waiting outside with a pamphlet, sitting on the rocky ground. There was this bulletin board that left me vivid impression with lots of bloody pictures on broken bones, diseases and injuries... I thought that the government was putting this up to remind the people to drive and ride more carefully, even though most still don't bother at all.

I was feeling a bit hungry after retiring back to the hotel at night, I had had dinner some hours ago, and it was a bit late to be eating anything. However, I convinced myself it's my last day here, and all the DUN would be useless after I left the country. So I grabbed the keys and headed downstairs. The streets were still crowded with enthusiastic locals and foreigners, many were chanting loudly and even dancing! I got to Lotteria which was only a few blocks away, ordered my last Big Star Combo (a bit like Mc Donald's Big Mac), for there's no guarantee I would ever have Lotteria again.

The snack was great, and left me with a wide greasy smile on the face.

Tomorrow, I would be going to Hong Kong first thing in the morning.

And I couldn't be more excited to be back to a Mandarin speaking city.
