Most people recommended on the sun rise that's really beautiful from the Sword Lake, so I got up early and decided to pay it a visit. It's only a bit past six, but the sun was already up and blazing hot. I gave up about the sun rise view, took a brisk walk around the lake and returned to my lodge for a short rest. By the time I turned on my Map with me (gps) it was telling me to update. I did as it told and discovered that all the bookmarks I had set were gone... the ones in Hanoi, and later on in Hong Kong. I had no choice but to retire in the hotel and tried my best to fish back all the bookmarks and their locations.
I planned to wander around two of the suggested main streets in Hanoi City, highly recommended by the lady clerk at the front desk. I followed her direction to the first, and familiar sights approached: the lock booth that I had taken a picture just yesterday, the silk hotel, so on...
I circled around the street one more time before finally making my way to the second.
The same thing happened again by the time I reached the entrance of the second street...
Yes...it looked really familiar, for I had been here, too, just the other day.
Taking a path that led me away from the city, until shops and booths were starting to fade out and all were left by the roads were trees and old houses. I was a little bit afraid to be so far away from the city center, few pedestrians were to be seen, there were many stray dogs barking around.
I took some of the pictures and calmed myself down, turning my heels, I tried my best to find the way back to the lake.
There's really nothing to see out of Hanoi, or maybe had I given this city too much credits? I suppose the 36 streets located in the tourists area were really a good sight to see, but for the rest of the city, it was just a SOSO.
But still, it's worth the visit. My blisters on the skin were starting to pop and I was shedding skin, just like a snake.
