TED/Lian Pin Koh: A drone's-eye view of conservation

What's the primary concern of an ecologist? The state of our forests and environment. They are mostly people with a nature-loving heart and caring personality,

However, in the 21st century, most of the ecologists are facing new challenges of big machines and mechanic vehicles driving into the forests, they dig up the ground and tore away the trees, making places look bare and bald. All of these deforestation doing much harm to our mother Earth and the ecologists are hurting inside. And that's why, one of them Mr. Lian Pin Koh is suggesting that they use drones to guard the forests and fight back!

This kind of suggestion is sure going to raise a new trend for the drones are going to hurt nobody, basically to protect and to alarm the locals that somebody is trespassing and hurting their forests. The drones won't attack on its own so there would be no worry of it getting into a robotic revolution. The idea of building robots is still troubling many people's minds, for the human being are still not yet to accept the common existence of robots. So I guess whether Mr Lian's proposal will work through, is going to depend on the public's opinions and stereotypes.
