What we usually hear from the others is the arm wrestling in which two people put up their arm and stuck them together, then twist! The winner will be the one putting the other arm on the table. However as time changes with the flow, games are also changing. For example the once popular arm wresting had evolved into something called the thumb wrestling, which involved two players using the thumb instead of the arm. However if you want to know about everything, just take a look into the video and the lecturer will tell you everything you would like to know.
So the question is, what happens when you get an entire audience to stand up and connect with one another? Chaos, that's what. At least, that's what happened when Jane, who is the lecturer of this TED video, she tried to teach TED to play her favorite game. Then again, when the game is "massively multi-player thumb-wrestling," what else would you expect?
And then there is the great initiative and purpose! Only problem I have, is games. Everything seems to involve game. Do we need game in every part of our life nowadays, is that our only way to connect? Really sad.
Do we need to play a game at the toilet? When we eat? When we cook? When we have sex? Think about it, what is the opposite word of perform? Google it, you won't find it, sad enough. For me it is being. We are human beings, not human doings.
And what is the opposite word of competition? Cooperate. Sure, this is a form of cooperate, but it's still the win/lose, I'm-on-top-of-you.
I get the point, really, I do. I have been a professional PC gamer for 15 years and today I absolute hate it, that's why my comment. Today I notice how everything involves gaming. Getting better;stronger, faster, fitter, healthier, our whole life has turned out to be a game!
