Henry is a paralyzed man, and the illness is called stroke. However, he didn't give up on himself but managed to make a difference to his family, the society, and at last to himself.
If you were to read it on a book or from an article on a piece of newspaper, it's going to be inspiring and full of tears, however, the way Henry spoke of his story was as if nothing!
Just as simple as that. How could you feel the sympathy for someone who doesn't even feel sorry for himself/ herself? And I think that's the aspect that I admired Henry the most, for he turned the obstacle and all sort of failures, frustrations into turning points and twisted them into his own advantage, I was really inspired by that spirit.
In other ways, Henry's story also provoked us into re-thinking about our lives and how we've been living them. Have we really been making use of the most of it and living it to the biggest? It's a really good question and I think that most of us hadn't fulfill it. As for the robotic talks later in the lecture, it was mainly about Henry and his good partner Chad, who had found something useful to the patients who are suffering from just the same symptoms as they have: stroke.
It's very frustrating not being able to move but nobody can do anything about it until they come up with the idea of Robots support. But whether it's going to make it and being really helpful to the paralyzed ones is still a question hovering around. and we all hope them well to come up with that solution sooner or later : )
