TED/Beatbox brilliance: Tom Thum at TEDxSydney

This is a really strange piece of TED video that I found on the Internet today, and it's so different to the other ones. This is more like a number from the CD, rather than someone on the stage talking about life and lecturing you. The topic drew my attention in the first place, and after clicking in, I watched the entire 11 minutes without a pause. That's really some cool and intense music production from the mouth! I remembered a friend of mine in high school who was also into Beatboxing, and he was really an outstanding player, he could make all the sounds and instruments simply from his mouths. And it's an amazing technique, making the whole thing a  fantastic show to watch.

I love how the player Tom sounded out his whole life story through beat boxing, making the audiences laugh in the meanwhile. He's also an extraordinary player, performing tons of techniques I have never seen before. I also admired the audiences down below, for not all people throughout different age will appreciate Beat boxing. However, they give out shouts and applause through the whole performances, showing their support no matter what.

It really takes a lot of courage to walk on to the stage in front of so many people, and do things that you're so uncertain whether the ones below will really like. Beatboxing here on the stage of TED seemed to be quite irregular to the normal lectures performed. For I've watched so many TED videos till now, and most of them were simply talks. There were a few talent shows, funny demonstrations and even instrumental performances. However, this is my first TED beatboxing show. I really hope that sooner or later, I will be a able to see a performance of rapping, or rock'n roll here on the stage of TED!
