TED/Simon Sinek: How great leaders inspire action

There are many famous leaders through out the world, in many countries, no matter history, or at the moment. There were Roosevelt, Stalin, Churchill, Chiang Kai Shek, and of course the father of our nation, Mr. Sun Yat Sen. Many others were not mentioned here, but for what they did and brought to the society, were recorded in the books and known in the hearts of many.

However, we're not here, today, to discuss about the people, but to talk about their personalities and the factors and talents needed to achieve one. Simon listed many potentials of people who have the capability of becoming one of the leaders. For example, he or she must have the ambition, which can be both good or bad; there's also the need of confidence, and a sense of bending the heads to certain situations.

When we take a look back in history, Hitler, Mussolini were also infamous leaders of the time of Second World War. Their countrymen put trust in them, and believed these leaders to be their saviors. Both Hitler and Mussolini owned the above characteristics, but look how that turned out. The massacre of many, the holocaust of Jews... so many terrifying cruel acts.

So I guess what we are really discussing here, with Simon, is actually about: how to become a good leader. And the most important thing that a leader nowadays should own is the ability to inspire action. Crisis of economical systems and trades have taken the place of Wars. People's hearts go down during such situations and bad environments, which pressured them into committing crimes.

That's when the leader's ability comes into action, to improve and steady the minds of these people, to inspire them and give them hope of the future, no matter in reality or as a form of illusion. The best leader is supposed to try his or her own best encouraging the countrymen, therefore the nation can be strong.
