Most of us are now living in a modern society, which is always about reasoning, and facing reasonable things. If we don't like what's happening around us, people sue it, or complain and tell the others. The thing is that we're now in a world so advance that people all day long is to talk about their freedom, liberty rights and human rights. However, if we are truly given the freedom to do whatever we want, as long as it doesn't violate the law, why is it still an issue about gay couples, lesbians and their marriages?
The point of this TED video is to show the audiences, how we should be confident of ourselves, and admit what we really are. No matter the sexes, or being a transexual; we may have feelings for the same sex, but what about it? We're still people and deserve just the same rights like the rest of the others. There are many reasons that one should come out, like the author of this TED video, it can be a supportive act that you support GAY just like the rest of the others, or learn to not care how the others look at you, but the most important thing would be self approval.
If you're a gay of lesbian, and you don't have self approval, living under the shadow of the others and always too shy and afraid to admit about your own identity, you're going to have a terrible and shy life. No one can guarantee that you will be truly miserable, but the relieve you will fell after releasing your true identity, I can promise you that you're going to feel just as different and extremely confident. Many people may object by saying that: what do you know, you're not a gay! And what if I get attacked by my friends, classmates the others for knowing what I truly am? I can't say for sure that your friends and the others won't turn their backs on you, but I only believe that we should face our true identity, instead of hiding it in the dark.
